Small Business Photographer in San Francisco Bay Area | Amanda Mathson

Hi, I’m Amanda.

I’m a branding and lifestyle photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, serving primarily small businesses, startups, and solopreneurs. Whether you need some fresh headshots or promotional photos for your website or social media, I’d love to help your brand to shine in the best possible light.

I love small businesses

I have a special place in my heart for startups and small businesses, especially women-owned businesses. There’s something about the creative energy and excitement that comes with a small business that I just love to capture. Coaches, nutritionists, therapists, and other entrepreneurs come to me for photos to help launch an all-new brand or give an existing brand a little reboot.

an eye for marketing

Besides being a photographer for small businesses, I’m a long-time marketing consultant who knows a thing or two about the importance of building a cohesive brand. I work closely with my clients and their design and marketing teams to be sure their photo session falls right in line with their brand personality. Sending the right message to the right people is key, and your photos should be consistent with that goal.

Bay Area and beyond

Tucked between San Francisco and Napa is where you’ll find Marin County – the beautifully quirky place I call home with my husband and our two rescue mutts, Mila and Finnegan. No matter the time of year, this place is extremely photogenic, to say the least. I work throughout the Bay Area but I’m always open to traveling anywhere in California and beyond.

What to expect from me as your photographer

Amanda Mathson | San Francisco Photographer for Small Businesses

Not only do I want to provide you with photos that you love, but I want you to actually enjoy the experience of capturing them.

As a photographer, I aim to capture the beauty of real life, without a lot of frills or fuss. Your photos should reflect you at your best, not some fake or contrived version of you.

If we end up working together, you can expect to have a fun (yes, fun!) and low-key time, with zero pressure for you to try to be someone you’re not. My number-one goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible in front of my camera because that’s when your most beautiful, authentic self will shine through.

Having professional photos done should never be an intimidating or dreadful task. Even more than that, it should be a pleasurable experience that you will want to do again and again. I will do everything I can to make sure that’s the case.
