I’m a branding and lifestyle photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, serving primarily small businesses, startups, and solopreneurs. Basically, I get to meet a lot of new, interesting people while running around the Bay Area taking pretty photos. I love my job.
a little about me
I’m originally from a small town in Wyoming you probably haven’t heard of, only because it’s not exactly a destination spot. It’s more like the kind of town you just pass through on your way to bigger, more exciting places. That said, I had a wild and carefree childhood that I spent almost entirely outdoors, covered in dirt, and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. After living in several big cities over the years, I’m still a small-town girl at heart with a deep love for the country.
Now I’m growing some roots in the Bay Area, where we get to enjoy the best of both worlds. Tucked between San Francisco and California’s wine country is where you’ll find Marin County – the beautifully quirky place I now call ‘home’ with my husband and our two scrappy rescue mutts, Mila and Finnegan.
Besides being a photographer, I’m also a marketing consultant for small businesses and startups, specializing in content development and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). What that basically means is I advise businesses on how to make their websites easier to find and more engaging for their visitors. Having beautiful photography to reflect a brand’s personality plays a key role in this.
When I’m not analyzing websites or capturing photos, I still like to play in the dirt out in my yard, experiment in the kitchen with a new recipe I found on Pinterest, or hike around Marin with my pups.
about my photography
You could say I kind of started a photography business by accident.
I’ve always loved photography and dabbled with it as a hobby but didn’t seriously consider it as a profession at first. When the need for photography kept coming up for my marketing clients, it inspired me to practice more and take up my skills a few notches. Whether it was headshots, food photography, or lifestyle photography to promote a brand, I became the one to fulfill the need.
What started out as a convenient skill to have as a marketing consultant has since blossomed into a greater love for visual storytelling on a number of different fronts. I have a particular soft spot in my heart for small businesses and startups, and I love doing personal branding sessions for local entrepreneurs to help tell the story behind their brand.
Whatever your story might be – the story of your business, your passion, or simply you as an individual – I would love to help you tell it in photos.
Live outside of the Bay Area? I’m always open to traveling out of state as well, especially to Oregon, Washington, Utah, or good ole Wyoming, so please feel free to ask.
I also love working with other creatives, so if you’re interested in collaborating on a styled shoot or another personal project of some kind, please reach out anytime.
